25th International Migration Conference

The 25th International Migration Conference will take place from 11 to 13 June 2024 at the FHNW School of Social Work in Olten, Switzerland. The conference will focus on the topics of ‘Solidarity’ and ‘Current social challenges in the context of migration and “Sustainable Global Social Work and Education”’.

The term ‘solidarity’ refers to a specific form of support that is usually based on reciprocity/reciprocity. In the context of migration, ‘solidarity’ is increasingly used to describe the particular form of concrete support relationships that arise in areas such as family, work, civil society or the welfare state. However, ‘solidarity’ also describes a specific attitude and orientation in modern societies and in this sense is a key concept of modern migration societies.
As part of the 25th International Migration Conference, researchers and experts from the field will explore the broad field of ‘solidarity’ in lectures and workshops, highlight new developments, present current struggles for ‘solidarity’ and seek answers to the question of whether there are new opportunities for a ‘multicultural conviviality’, for a peaceful and mutually supportive future.
